QNAP Officially Launches QVR Recording Vault, a License-Free, Scalable Backup Solution for Surveillance Recordings
Now supports QVR Surveillance, QuTS hero, and enhanced metadata reliability.

Taipei, Taiwan, September 4, 2025 – QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading computing, networking and storage solution innovator, today announced the official release of QVR Recording Vault 1.0.0, the production-ready version of its license-free active backup solution for surveillance recordings. Following a successful beta phase, QVR Recording Vault 1.0.0 brings enhanced stability, optimized performance, and expanded features to ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective backup management for surveillance video data across enterprises and multi-site deployments.
What’s New in QVR Recording Vault 1.0.0
- Added Support for QVR Surveillance: Backup capabilities are now extended beyond QVR Pro and QVR Elite, integrating seamlessly with QNAP’s latest QVR Surveillance software for long-term recording storage.
- Available for QuTS hero: The software can be installed on both QTS and QuTS hero NAS platforms, providing broader deployment flexibility.
- Metadata Bug Fixes: Several issues related to metadata handling have been resolved to improve video indexing accuracy and ensure stable long-term archive operations.
