Background

When setting up a high-availability (HA) cluster, the system requires you to specify a network interface to be used for the heartbeat connection. This connection is responsible for real-time data synchronization between the two nodes of the cluster.

Details

When selecting the heartbeat interface for your HA cluster, please follow these recommendations:

  • Choose a high-speed interface on the NAS
We recommend the network interface with the highest bandwidth on the NAS, with a minimum speed of 10 GbE.
  • Use high-quality network cables
We recommend using high-quality, standard-compliant network cables of Cat6 or higher specification.
  • Consider port trunking
You can configure port trunking to increase bandwidth and enhance fault tolerance.
