The QNE Network OS offers the innovative Service Composer for chaining virtual networks, systems, and services. With a visual network topology and intuitive drag-and-drop operation, the Service Composer helps IT administrators efficiently deploy virtual network services on QuCPE Network Virtualization Premise Equipment, thus accelerating enterprise network infrastructure deployment.

Virtualized networking and services completes the virtual network infrastructure

The Network OS running on QuCPE Network Virtualization Premise Equipment, QNE, integrates Virtual Network Functions (VNF) to enable network and services to run as VNFs or VMs, helping to minimize physical network equipment requirements and cabling. The QNE Network OS offers a Service Composer for IT administrators to allocate physical network resources on QuCPE for virtual applications.

Efficient management via Service Composer with visualized topology

With the visual topology of the Network Service Composer, complicated virtual network status are simplified and allow at-a-glance overviews. IT administrators can connect multiple SD-WAN, firewall VNFs or VMs using drag and drop, and virtual network settings can be configured from one platform.

Flexibly allocate versatile virtual network functions

Supports VNF, VM, Virtual Switch and QuWAN SD-WAN to boost LAN/WAN performance and security:

  • Native Port

    Assign the QuCPE’s physical ports as VNF ports via Network Manager, and the enabled VNF ports will be shown in the Service Composer for chaining.

  • VM

    Virtualization Station allows you to install prepared VNFs from the marketplace (including Zabbix and pfSense) or to import your own VMs. Installed VMs and VNFs are shown in the Service Composer for chaining.

  • Virtual Switch

    Virtual Switches can connect native ports and VMs, and allow enabling IPAM in LAN from the Service Composer UI.

  • QuWAN

    QNE incorporates the QuWAN SD-WAN Virtual Router to form encrypted VPN tunnels with other QNAP devices based in multiple sites to achieve multi-site network services chaining. For example, you can automatically create a firewall network (using QuWAN and pfSense VNFs) to enhance WAN security in the Service Composer UI.

Featuring a user-friendly visual topology, on-demand virtual network services and intuitive drag-and-drop operations, the Service Composer helps IT staff efficiently deploy virtual network infrastructure.

  • Visualized topology

    Obtain an at-a-glance overview of virtual network infrastructure (including useable virtual resources, VM status and network service chaining relationships). Detailed information for the CPU, memory and IP address can also be found in the information column of each service.

  • On-demand virtual network services

    Run, suspend, shutdown or force shutdown VMs directly from the UI. When settings change, you can directly add/remove individual VNFs using the service composer, greatly simplifying operational network use and enhancing maintenance convenience.

  • Intuitive drag-and-drop

    Easily set up VNFs or VMs, create virtual switches, and allocate physical network resources for chained services by drag and drop. When finishing deploying the network infrastructure, you can apply settings to allow network services go live, greatly optimizing the IT deployment process.

Build a network service infrastructure for your enterprise

  • 1. Assign a physical WAN port as a VNF port for connecting virtual services with WAN in Network Manager.

  • 2. After the WAN VNF port, connect a QuWAN VNF.

  • 3. After the QuWAN VNF, connect Virtual Switch and pfSense firewall VM/VNF.

  • 4. After the QuWAN VNF, you can also connect another Virtual Switch and multiple VMs based on your needs.
